On Saturday and Sunday I went for a ride with my mate Martin Beyst to see the Oxendon and Kelmarsh tunnels. On the first day we stopped for dinner at Bardney heritage centre which has a very nice cafe. We then continued to Stamford via Sleeford and Bourne. At Stamford we had some fish and chips. We then headed to market habrough. On the way we stumbled accross the massive 82 arch Welland Viaduct which we stopped to look at and tool some pictures. At market harborough we stopped at an aldi to pick up some supplies and then went to a campsite beside the brampton valley way. This was possibley the best site I have ever used, I even got a free cup of tea, a sandwich and a muffin, all for a fiver! After pitching up and having tea we went to check out the tunnels, by this time it was dark and it was quite an expirience riding a railway path in the dark, not something I had done before. Martin was having some problems with his lighting so I lit the way for both of us using my P7 modded Inoled light. It is much easier seeing inside the tunnels when there is no light at the end!
In the morning we headed back via rutland water (hills, some with chevrons!) and then took some minor roads to sleeford (more hills!). At sleeford we stopped at a chippy for some late dinner and then headed hone.
