2022 BHPC Races

Championship points will be awarded for up to two-thirds (66%) of the rounds which you take part in.

NOTE: this is 2/3 of rounds, not events - each event typically has two rounds (e.g. 30 mins and 45 mins) so there will be around 24-25 rounds each season, of which your best 16 will count for points

The first race is usually one hour after the opening time listed above, except where stated otherwise. Every race needs at least one Organisator plus Assistant and a qualified First Aider. Events with blank spaces in the table still need volunteers: please either post on the Forum or email compsec@bhpc.org.uk.

Click on the podium links in the race list for the current season's results. See the Results Index on the left for previous seasons.

2022 Race Fees

Registration for races must be done online and in advance. On-the-day registration is no longer possible so please do not just turn up at an event hoping to race.
Race registration is available in the BHPC Shop - click here or browse to Racing> BHPC Race Sign-on

For most events:

  • Sign-on opens about two weeks before each event for BHPC members. Registration for non-members opens a week later (i.e. ne week before the event) if places are still available
  • Sign-on closes at 12:00 noon on Thursday before the event, or earlier if the maximum number of participants is reached
  • Numbers are usually set by the venue, not BHPC, and cannot be exceeded

We are usually happy to issue full refunds up to the time when sign-on closes if you have registered and are then unable to attend.

Race fees for 2022

Per event: Senior members (16 and over): £9
  Juniors* (over 10 and under 16): £0
  Non-members: £14
Annual prepay: Members only: £70

* Juniors are riders over the age of 10 and under the age of 16 when membership starts (either their own or their Adult's - see below).

There are two options for a Junior to race:

  • As a member: He/she has Junior membership in their own name. They must be accompanied to races by a responsible adult (who doesn't have to be a member)
  • As a non-member: He/she must be accompanied to races by an Adult member from the same household

Race Format

BHPC race events are very friendly, informal affairs open to both BHPC members and non-members. We usually split the riders into two groups, one for slower riders (e.g. new riders, juniors, trikes, etc) and one for faster riders. Each group gets at least two races, usually a traditional road race of around 45 minutes plus a shorter event such as a time-trial or flying lap. The actual format is decided by the event Organiser depending on the track, the weather, personal whim, etc and is usually posted up on the BHPC Forum a few days ahead.
