19th April

Let's say 10am meet for a 10:30am start

The main start will be at Mike Burrows workshop
in Rackheath just outside of Norwich...... nr13 6px

Mike is letting people look around his workshop and
use his facilities before and after the ride

more the merrier

Any type of bike welcomed
This ride open to all people of all forums
The pace is not for the lycra clad racing snakes
but for the people who enjoy chatting whilst cycling

Nearest campsite is

Martineau Lane
Norwich, Norwich, NR1 2HX

There is a 9:30am start at NR1 4JZ
which closest to the campsite and this ride
will link up at Rackheath

Loads of room for carparking at Rackheath

some more surprises this year
if people arrive early(Fri or Sat) an extra ride can be added

p.s  Its Mikes birthday

I will think about it, I may take a day off work, ride out Saturday, camp then do the ride, camp then ride back on the Monday. Train not really feasible due to the route being a very long way round (thanks Mr Beeching). Or I may see if I can borrow a car.

It is a long day but I did that route from Wakefield to Norwich many years ago after being unable to afford the train and being quoted 9hrs by coach.
180 miles in 12hours elapsed time... on an upright!

Hi Lee
There will be a few of us camping at martineau rd. It's a nice little site and only a cyclepath from proper coffee at Sainsbury's. Some are cycling there, some arriving by train and I'm driving.
Last year we were four, but hoping for more this year because we are promoting this as our April camp on our Cycle Camp and Tour forum.

Do you have a link to the Cycle Camp and Tour forum?

I'd like to have a look.

Hi Nobby,
In Spirit of the good relationships twixt camp and tour vs Travelling Light forums I am tempted to join you on this one (It is near to a special anniversary date for me!)
Does the camping need to be booked in advance?  Will I be allowed to hold my head up if I arrive en voiture?
At the pace of sailing ships and bicycles.
