The Bike Radar Live organiser John has just got back to me to say that they are not opposed to recumbents of all forms taking part in the Hot Lap race. They will just have to have a seperatr category for them.

If you want to enter any of the other 'race' type events, including the Sportif, they want £35 - £45 off you ("including weekend festival ticket"). I'm not really interested in paying £40 to ride round for an hour!

If I read it right, doing a Hot Lap will set you back £25: £15 to get in in the first place and £10 for the lap

I have now signed up for the whole weekend. It will be a good opertunity to do a lot of testing on AV-ACG as the circuit will be open to ride on for most of the weekend plus I can try the Hot Lap.

Put that way, it sounds like £25 well spent!

Look at Darren's face.
That is near the bottom of the hill!
About half a mile of climbing to go to Coppice.

Definately a low gear required as well as a nice high one for the downhills.

Anything which happens before or afterwards is just standing around waiting to race....

Yep - 6 year olds taking the Mick on their 12" wheeled bikes as they overtook on the way up the hill,  and then blast past them on the back straight.

Anyone going to Bike Radar Live today? The weathers looking good for it.

More trying to avoid it... it being two miles from this cinema...
£15 each to get into a show seemed rather steep.
£35 a head to ride my local roads seemed even steeper.
And the list of 'attractions' sounded like all the things that have put me off the York, NEC and London shows - 'MTB skills', 'dirt jumps', thumping loud music, wall-to-wall stick bike stuff...
Bah! I'm just hoping it doesn't cause any local road closures.

Yes, I've decided to give it a miss, I think the prices are silly and what's all this about needing a bill to ride the track!!
I've got 4 weekend holidays coming up in the next few weeks (fowlmead, york, WC2009 and preston) anyway and I need to get my fish finished.
