Cap in teeth, tears in eyes, and clench in bum I hit 71.8 km/hr down Witcombe Hill yesterday.
Today, I can't remember if I was just scared or exhilarated . I think the Burley trailer was pushing me.

was it stable??

windcheetah used to scare the living daylights out of me above 35mph!

quest however is different, had it up to 59mph other morning, rock solid, no twitchyness or drift, and benign steering!

managed 61mph this morning, i might risk it and actually pedal down the top part of hill and see if i can get to 70 mph - bit scary though!

The SA drums worked well when I come upon the slow moving tractor.

Yes, I've gone a little faster, 48mph, and the brakes are really very good. I suspect you may have problems with the SA drums if you are a steady descender and take a mountain pass with the brakes on all of the time. A rim brake will blow the tyre with the heat in that situation so no surprises that the drum needs a little TLC.

The sudden speed increase was probably due to the new "Stealth" black rims fitted Wink

I was just thinking that myself, Nippy.
Now that I have them I'm not so sure that they are as pretty as the silver but they enhance nicely the ambience of a machine named "Aretha" : o)

Thank you fards but I ain't playing with you!
1 - your calves are the size of my thighs
2 - your large chainring is the same diameter as my back wheel
3 - I'm 61 years, 1 week and a few days old and I don't want my first heart attack for at least 20 years
.... but thanks for the offer Big smile

I called in to a reumbent shop in Holland recently where the owner explained the brake on the new Sprint is not just a parking brake but also regulates your speed going downhill.

I only have 2 questions:

1) Why?

2) What do ICE think they are playing at?
