Having been returned to the world with another new hip .... virtually pain free after five days and with my supply of morphine sweeties exhausted, my mind has turned to more important things, like preparing for my new Sunrider due for delvery in July.

I need to plan for maintainance equipment. Can anyone point me to a repair ramp, that will give me access to the velomobile's underside for routine mainteance? As my shoulder/arm strength is pretty poor, I would require a mechanical lift/hoist to get the machine at least 1.2 metres off the floor and the means to hold the sunrider stable at this height.

My off the cuff budget is around £400.

All ideas welcome.

Thanks,

Alan

Cool! I used plastic packing crates to work under the Quest, one under each wheel. They're low enough that it can be a one person job to pop one under each wheel in turn but it is easier with an assistant helping.
Budget - nothing 'cos they were already around.
Verdict - it is damn cold lying outdoors on your back on brick paving working at nose height...

At £400 will it be as easy to dig a maintanance trench to climb down into rather than lifting the velo?

At velombile.nl they have electronically adjustable tables to lift the quests up, they are possibly motorcycle or similar lifts with the addition of a chipboard top as it looks like the original top may have been too small.

Hey Martin, that first one looks nice if only it were another 10-15cm wider... And I'd won the lottery... Oh, and I had space in the workshop... Hmmm - next house move!

Must say, looks very nice.
Just a shame that I have a 5'x4' attic door right where the board would need to go!
